(Fletcher Class)
| SPARKTRICIAN LINES This lamp screwer and fuse-changer is here to report that the various stories that are being circulated to the effect that the electricians dont do much are malicious rumors and false. How could you read, wash, eat, etc., if they didnt? The generators that produce the electricity for the lighting, fresh water pumps, galley ranges, etc., are tended by an electrician at all times as well as the maintenance of such circuits carrying said phenomenon to these various pieces of apparatus. When the coffee pot burns out, who is called? Even if he is a day or so late it may get repaired. In his unobtrusive, quiet way he is vital to the comfort of the ship and deserves due credit. Irrelevant to the above, let us remember that a request made in kindly tone receives the quickest attention, and on small ships where living conditions are close, harsh words come quicker to the tongue than kind ones.
