DE 744 (Cannon Class)
The E-mail:
Subject: USS Kyne DE 744
Dear Mark,
First, my uncle George Graham and I thank you for this
wonderful site and for your work on it. George contacted
me a week ago with the site, knowing that my father, his
brother, Robert Milburn Graham served on the Kyne. To that
end I have an original typed history of the ship from the
PIO. The last date in it is 1954 - the year I was born.
I am looking for my father's DD-214 for dates of his
service. I also have scads of photos on-board ship. Mostly
those "young men looking brave at sea" things. I also have
the map with photos of the Kyne and the travels of my
father marked in ink - dates look like mostly 1944.
Would you like good copies of these rather than a scanned,
emailed copy that you might not be able to read? I will
snail-mail the copies to you if you will provide an
address. I will also email photos from his album - many
good closeup photos of crew - as I confirm they are from
the Kyne. My father also served on the General Mann, during
the Indo-Chinese / French War.
Again, thank you. Let me know about the copies.
Best regards,
Laurel Lorraine Graham
