I am David Briscoe, a radarman 3rd class on the Everett F. Larson. I was on watch that sad night. The radar crew monitored all radio voice communications and heard the whole terrible thing. We had radar tracings from the "DRT" of the entire incident. One of our radarmen had transferred from the Evans to the Larson two weeks earlier. The Evans radar crew slept in the front part of the ship and all were lost except two seamen apprentices that were bunking aft.

I found this photo on the Larson web site. One question. I don't recall the death toll, do you have that information? Thank you.
