Link Guidelines

Destroyers OnLine

Dear fellow Shipmates,

Welcome to Destroyers Online. We do encourage links from our site - provided they meet some simple guidelines.

The first guideline is that your site should be compatible with our primary mission, which is to reflect highly on the Navy, their ships and the sailors who sailed them. Our second goal is to be the premier web site for Destroyers, Escorts and Frigates on the internet.

Here are a few examples of what we will not Link to:

  • If you have a website that is primarily a "personal" website with a few notations or photo's of the ship you served on, we probably will not link to you.

  • If you have a "Geocities" domain, we will not link to you.

  • If you have a domain where there are multiple pop-ups, the browser tends to "hang," and clicking "back" is difficult, we will not provide a link to you.

  • If you are submitting a domain that does not have the ship name (e.g., as the URL, we may still link to you, but not from our main lists. What we may do is link your site from an index page we have (or will build) for that ship.

If you passed the above criteria, please e-mail your URL and any particulars about site mission. Upon approval, we will notify you by e-mail with further details.

Link Request.

Thank You,

Mark Roberts
